More Local Bigfoot Activity

By Linda Martin

July 18, 2005 - During the last week a huge handprint was discovered in the snow about twenty-five miles south of here, and a minister passing through on Highway 96 saw something he believes was a Bigfoot.

On July 15 a backpacker, Cliff Jones, fresh from a trip through the Marble Mountains south of Sulphur Springs, stopped in at JavaBob's Bigfoot Deli and recorded an account of his experience. He wrote: "After spending some time viewing Green Granite Lake myself and one of my buddies (Squirel) were walking back again, past the same patch of snow and this time we saw a large hand print in the snow. It was about two of my hands long and the fingers were about an inch and a half wide." Read the rest at JavaBob's Weblog.

On July 14 at 10pm Pastor Dave Martin of the Seaside Assembly of God Church, traveling through on Highway 96 just west of Happy Camp, saw a large dark creature jump onto the roadway in front of his vehicle, landing on all-fours. The creature then stood erect like a human being and walked across Highway 96 in only two giant steps. He lost sight of it after it reached the other side of the road. He left the story of this encounter on JavaBob's Weblog.

JavaBob's Bigfoot Deli is the Bigfoot reporting center for Happy Camp. Anyone having a sighting experience can stop in there to let us know what happened. JavaBob's is closed on Sunday and Monday. Alternatively you can phone the Happy Camp News editor at (530) 493-2099 and the sighting report will be relayed to JavaBob.

Stella Patterson, a city lady at age 80, told by her doctor she had "young legs" vowed to spend one full year on her remote mountain mining claim.

A reviewer on Amazon wrote: "I first purchased this book while on a vacation trip exactly 14 years ago (1989); since then I've tried to read it at least once a year. I laugh my way through the book, and the author's courage & zest for life continues to inspire me! I only hope I am able to always view life with the same gusto & joy she had, trials & tribulations notwithstanding. She was quite a remarkable woman."
